Little nicer weather today! No snow.
Sawyer2 you asked about the morels, southern, central Wisconsin. He did say it wasn't as good as most years. When I asked about gps coordinates on the mushrooms he said wait a minute I think I got a bite.
Springerfan I agree they have the best map chip. The way I heard it was that when Johnson Outdoors (owner of Humminbird) bought the Lakemaster co. the chip soon there after was not compatible with Lowrance products. I'm trying to remember any shallow rocks not on the chip, I really think they got them all, possibly the boulders ne of the big flat rock in beaver flats aren't on the map chip. What isn't on the chip are the areas of the flowage with attached trees in 12-16' such as the big area in front of Fisherman's or the 3/4 x 3/4 mile section in front of F-16 between the two narrows. I see people on full plane all the time going through areas like that, I wouldn't do it. The best way to learn the flowage is still being out there in October in a year when the water is down 4-5'.
Side note on the chip. I was on the phone yesterday with humminbird trying to figure out why my unit wouldn't read one of my two map chips. I bought a 859 ci HD for my rental boat last year with the latest version chip which either of my units won't read. They diagnosed that there is no information on the chip, their theory, someone may have put it in a lap top trying to get info out of it and screwed it up. Don't put them in a computer, its now junk.
