FISHING REPORT
5/17/15 7:39 AM CST
Conditions: Partly Sunny Air Temp: 66° - 70° F Water Temp: 56° - 60° F
The walleye fishing has been very good the last few days big numbers but fish have been in the smaller size range. The crappies on the other hand have been big, up to 14". Some days a nice mixed bag of fish crappies, perch walleyes and pike. We have mainly been fishing deeper wood and rock structure in 14-22' range.
Lost jig I think you were sincere in your past question on losing jigs. I never counted before but here it is. Firstly if I'm not throwing a crank bait ( low % of time) I am throwing a jig, all day every day. First day 4 people ( including me )cast all day lost 8 jigs, second day three people all day 5 jigs, third day 4 people all day 4 jigs. Some of what we were throwing over wasn't snaggy but a lot of it was.
We were using isg slow fall 1/8 jigs, they are available in Mercer in a good selection, help support the local businesses when your up, they are hard to find else where. I did have a stretch when I was out of slow falls and used a weed weasel I used it for a day and a half before I lost it, if I had made it through two days I would have framed it and put it on my den wall.
