Had not been on the TFF in over a week and been getting some calls on what conditions are like. Late in the day yesterday I took a snowmobile ride from my house to the flowage. Drove to my shanty at a quick speed, was surprised at how good the travel was compared to the last time I was out. It didn't feel like I was driving over any slush, didn't think that was possible so I made a circle back on my track and did see the pockets of slush I had driven through. There is a top layer of hard wind driven snow and slush below that in places. Travel on snowmobiles is very good right now, things could change quickly if coming warm weather persists. Even a snowmobile traveler could have a problem if they stop their machine in the wrong place especially if pulling a heavy sled. I would not advise going out alone if you are not capable of lifting the heavy slush filled track onto fresh snow and pushing and running along side your snowmobile to get it going out of the slush, kinda like a couple weeks ago. Did not have any problems like that yesterday.
4 wheelers and utv's very doubtful with the exception of well travelled beaten down areas. Trucks with good clearance maybe, though have seen very few trucks on the ice this year.
Drove back to the shanty had a beverage and watched the sun set. Then took a ride to the bottom of the big water side almost to beaver creek then around to the bottom of the horseshoe. If you were looking for some solitude it was there yesterday other then on the snowmobile trail there wasn't a person on any of the TFF I saw.
