Travel conditions are about as good as they get for snowmobiles and 4 wheelers, light snow cover, very little slush. The test holes I drilled today found 11" of ice. The last week of cold weather really put on some ice cover. On the north end of the flowage to Donner's Bay the snowmobile trail is marked. The guys who marked the trail did find thin ice where the river channel narrows down, that was early in the week. If you stay on the trail in these areas you should be good. If coming from Sportsmans landing out to the "big waters" don't know ice thickness in front of the dam I would stay close to opposite shore and if you are the first track, get off your transport, walk ahead and drill a few holes.I suspect there could be thin ice and hazardous conditions yet on the east end in narrow spots, especially in front of Murray's landing, there was a lot of water coming down the Manitowish recently. Other then the sign put out today in front of Sringstead Landing and stakes leading to the landing the rest of the trail isn't marked yet but may be in the next day or two. I drove into the springstead landing there are people coming off that landing now.
Have fun, go catch some fish!
