FISHING REPORT
6/1/15 7:27 AM CST
Conditions: Partly Sunny Air Temp: 61° - 65° F Water Temp: 61° - 65° F
The walleye fishing has been consistently good. Saturday with the temperature drop and cold north wind we still caught walleyes throughout the day. In early May it would have been a tough bite but late May with the water in the low 60's the bite held up. Yesterday with bright sunny skies we again did well on walleyes. In the afternoon we found some bigger fish in the 16-19" range. We did the best in 12-14', a winning bottom composition was wood and firmer bottom with some rock. Mayflies: yesterday late in the day there was a hatch going on about when we were having our best action on bigger fish, lot of fear of mayflies hatches I guess I don't really get it. The Bass fishing: Saturday we tried a couple spots quickly and caught 4 or 5 then went back to walleyes. Yesterday we gave it more time and in 2 hours, brothers Walt and Dave along with myself caught 20 smallmouth, lot of nice sized fish. It is some incredibly fun fishing two of us threw cranks and one a wacky worm we all caught about the same amount of fish. We fished the smallmouth over 2-5' rocks.
