I've met a lot of nice guys up pre-fishing for the weekend bass tournament good luck, hope the weekend cold weather doesn't curtail the bite too bad. The weigh in is at the springstead landing, I believe at 3 pm sat. & sun. We've been catching a lot of fish the last few days, the walleyes have been plentiful but on the small side, the crappies have been nice, mostly 11"-12" range, a few perch scattered in the catch. Some of the fall spots I fish have been good others haven't had fish on them yet. Been staying in the deeper water 14-25' when we're on spots with crappies we've been putting out the bobber poles setting the bait a foot off bottom. All minnows, extra large fatheads although the last batch were on the smaller side. Areas with wood, 1/8 oz. slowfall jigs; sand and boulders 1/8oz. round head jigs. Not enough room in a post to mention all the people I get an opportunity to fish with. Picked up father and son Mike and Andrew at their campsite. They called to tell me which one they were at, R-22, this time of year you get your pick of any you want, wondered why they picked that one, not an F# with a picnic table. That is a really neat site ,I thought I had been on all of them but never saw that one before, nice! especially at a cold time of the year, sheltered from the wind. We had a nice catch of fish to start their trip. Bass guys, good luck, have fun out their, stay safe.
